Haley over at YA-Aholic has started up a new Thursday meme called Still on my Mind. (the linky will lead to the instructions on how to participate). In the meantime, here is the sparknotes version.
1. Think of a book that you read a while ago (weeks, months, or even Years) that you can't stop thinking about it. It could be for any number of reasons. (you loved it so much, it was scary, funny, heartwrenching... so on and so forth)
2. Post the summary of the book.
3. Post why you can't get it out of your head.
4. Head on over to YA-Aholic and post a comment linking up your post.
For my first Still On My Mind Post I decided to select:
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
What if you only had one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life?
Samantha Kingston has it all: looks, popularity, the perfect boyfriend. Friday, February 12, should be just another day in her charmed life. Instead, it turns out to be her last.
The catch: Samantha still wakes up the next morning. Living the last day of her life seven times during one miraculous week, she will untangle the mystery surrounding her death—and discover the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.
Why can't I get it off my mind?
This book was a heart-wrencher! There were times that I hated the main character, Sam... well actually there were times that I hated all of the characters, but there were times that I loved them. Lauren Oliver is an amazingly talented writer who has the ability to grab her readers attention from the beginning to even long after her story is complete. Her endings in particular the most memorable. Before I Fall makes you think. It makes you think about what you would do if you were put in the same situation as Sam. This book really is memorable!
