Review'd: Shiver by Maggie Stievater

Book Review:
Title: Shiver
Author: Maggie Stievater
Published: August 1st, 2009
Rating: 5 stars

Goodreads Summary:
the cold.
Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

the heat.
Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.

the shiver.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human—and Grace must fight to keep him—even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future.

Delibrarie (Delilah) Review:  I was really hesitant in reading this book. Seriously, it sat on my bookshelf for like a year... the whole wolf love thing just kind of turned me off BUT I love Fallen by Lauren Kate, and I love Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and everyone says that if you like those two then you'll like Shiver. ( I know I'm a total lemming) SO, I decided to read it, BUT I didn't buy Linger when it came out as a security plan in case I hated Shiver. Needless to say, I had to go out and buy Linger immediately after I finished Shiver. I loved it! I really liked that Sam was actually human for most of the book, it made the wolf thing less of an issue for me. This was a beautiful book.
