Review'd: Illusions by Aprilynne Pike

(This review contains spoilers for the previous two books, Wings and Spells, if you have not read both of those books, I recommend that you do not read this review. Instead skip ahead to the last line. It's not spoilery at all.)

Book Review:
Title: Illusions
Author: Aprilynne Pike
Published: May 3rd, 2011
Rating: 5 Stars

Goodreads Summary:
Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice.

But just as life is returning to normal, Laurel discovers that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible. And for the first time, Laurel cannot be sure that her side will prevail.

DeLibrarie (Delilah) Review:
The wings series is one of my and my best friend's favorites. The books are so cute! I always think of sparkly things... like glitter, and flowers, glittery flowers. Who doesn't love glittery flowers?! Maybe trolls! I LOVED this book! I always felt, and still feel, that wings and spells are written for the younger side of young adult novels, it's innocent, but I feel like Illusions helped the older crowd connect with Laurel a little more. She's STRONG in this book, and she takes charge! I was totally ready for another, "Tamani or David, whom ever shall I choose" book, but it wasn't. Thank goodness! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If you haven't read Wings, or Spells yet. Read them, you won't be disappointed, and you'll probably find yourself a new book boyfriend. ;)... and then read Illusions.
